(Original Caption) New York:Manhattan's bright lights reflect on the East River below the Queensboro Bridge. It was a year ago, Nov. 9, when this scene was darkened by the 'Great Blackout' and except for an occasional flickering candle or a flashlight, Manhattan's towers were black silhouettes. A massive power failure hit the northeastern US and for one night New York was without the element that makes it shine-electricity. 11/5/1966
